Ford GT Convertible Mustang

The Ford GT Convertible Mustang revolutionized the concept of affordable, compact, highly-styled, sporty-looked cars. The car's long hoods and short rear decks of this sport-like coupe has led to the car being known as a "pony car" in the American car culture.

Being around in the automotive industry for over 30 years, this model has been pioneering the Mustang line around the business and in the process, developed a lot of variations for its own line as well as spin-offs for other car companies. Some notable cars that were created based on the GT Convertible Mustang are GM's Chevrolet Camaro, AMC's Javelin, and Chrysler's revamped Plymouth Barracuda. In addition, this GT Convertible model also stirred the design of other coupes such as the Toyota Celica and Ford Capri.

In the span of its existence in the world of automotive, the image of the GT Convertible Mustang has gone through several redesigns. It became larger and heavier after every change. But this soon changed when GT Convertible fan boys requested Ford to revert the size of the car to the original 1964 design, size and concept.

Presently, the GT Convertible Mustang is on its 5th generation. Amidst the different remodeling and criticisms from car experts, this model has remained to be the godfather of Mustangs and at the same time one of the most promising cars around.
